TERYKONY/Boney Piles by Taras Tomenko
The film explores the aspiration of life in a war zone where the future is quite unclear. Somber poetic scenes plunge the viewer into an atmosphere of timelessness. Nastya and her friends are pure souls who, like other young people, live in fantasies and dreams. The director focuses on the inner world of these youths, showing us the contrast between life, joy, and the death that surrounds them.
This story is about coming of age and encountering a cruel reality. It is about childhood that perseveres in the face of the war.
Terykony premiered at the Berlinale Film Festival four days before the war started.
